The Full English
April 16, 2018Grand Order of Water Rats
April 16, 2018Most people recognise St Patrick’s Day and anyone north of the border will be able to name St Andrew’s Day, because in both Ireland and Scotland these National Days are celebrated as holidays. Yet ask the average Englishman to tell you the date of St George’s Day and there is a good chance they might not know. That is because a recent survey has suggested only one in five people know that St. George’s Day falls on 23rd April, and more than a quarter of people living in England cannot name St George as our patron saint!
You would think that a famous Saint who sleighed a fire-breathing dragon, has been our Patron Saint for hundreds of years, and is a hero all over the world, would deserve more on his National Day! With a growing movement to make St George’s Day a national holiday, at Brick Lane Music Hall we are celebrating with our annual St George’s Day show, a light-hearted celebration of everything English. We hope you can join us! Consider it your patriotic duty.
St George’s Day Show – April 20th – May 2nd 2018.
