‘An absolute joy’
January 16, 2017Let’s All Go to the Music Hall!
February 16, 2017February 12th 2016 marks Brick Lane Music Hall’s 24th Birthday!
From the early days in Brick Lane, one of the highlights of every year has been our annual pantomime for grown-ups. Looking through the archive, we traced many a special moment, none more so than some of the heart-warming scenes between mother and son…
Back in the day …. Vincent Hayes is Silly Billy in Jack and his Giant Stalk, with his glamorous and loveable mother, Dame Trott, the Late Tommy Osborne.
For several memorable pantomimes, audiences will remember Vincent Hayes and Chris Emmett enjoying a very special mother-son relationship. Seen here together performing a duet in Mother Goosed!
Paul James gamely took on the role of Vincent’s mother one year, in Aladdin. As Widow Twankee, Paul was tasked with the impossible job of keeping son, Wishee Washee, in check. Pictured above Vincent Hayes as Wishee Washee, Paul James as Dame, Widow Twankee, together with her other son, Aladdin himself, played by Andrew Robley.
In our 24th birthday year, audiences are enjoying Vincent, once again, as Jack’s brother, Silly Billy, this time with Andrew Robley playing Mother, in his debut role as Dame.
We hope you enjoy the pantomime this year. And please wish us “happy birthday” and share any Brick Lane Music Hall memories on our special birthday Facebook post on Friday!
