I adore this place. Such a talented team of performers with friendly & caring staff. We just saw Pinocchio and His Wooden Whopper & laughed from start to finish. Every single time we visit, we leave with our faces aching & sides hurting from smiling & laughing so much. We are still chuckling days later as we recall different bits. Thank you all so much. This place is an absolute gem & Vincent is a legend. Long may it continue. We can't wait to come back!
In 1852 publican, Charles Morton, fulfilled his dream by dragging entertainment out of the nation's pubs and establishing it in a theatre setting. In the grounds of the Canterbury Arms public house in Lambeth he built the very first Music Hall Theatre in the country. It opened on 17 May 1852 and this magnificent, opulent building seated 750 diners receiving personal, waitress service and it was Morton's proud boas that The Canterbury Hall offered "Only the highest class entertainment and refreshment." Today, 173 years later, live Music Hall & Variety entertainment has virtually died out - except for one shining example - Brick Lane Music Hall in Newham. Up to 200 diners can enjoy a first class three-course lunch (or dinner) followed by a wide choice of musical entertainment throughout the year.. For my recent visit on 6th March I was treated to the Brick Lane Music Hall’s annual panto for grown-ups, "Pinocchio & his Wooden Whopper!" This witty and inventive script, written and superbly directed by Lucy Hayes, was well-served by an excellent cast and guaranteed to keep the House rocking with laughter for well over two hours. The whole afternoon was an absolute tonic and outstanding value for money. A massive thank you to Charles Morton for giving us your dream and a truly heartfelt thank you to proprietor, Vincent Hayes MBE, for continuing to ensure that Morton's dream lives on.
Fantastic afternoon of laughter and merriment at Pinocchio and his wooden whopper, 10 of us had a wonderful afternoon . Delicious lunch and great service, Such fun i can't wait to return.
Our favourite entertainment venue. Cannot praise Vincent Hayes more highly. Vincent and the team strive year upon year to deliver wonderful events and they succeed. We saw the Panto yesterday, it’s amazing, The lunch was delicious and service first class. If you have never been - go! you will not be disappointed, those who have been - know. We applaud you Vincent and everyone, you do so much for Charity throughout the year. The atmosphere in the Gothic Church/ Theatre/ Cabaret type venue is unmatched in London. Look them up on the website and book.
We had a lovely time at Bricklane panto. There was 10 in the group but unfortunately we arrived on the wrong date and day due to a error on our part. The staff were very understanding and after a short wait they managed to seat us throughout the hall separately while the panto was on . We then had our delicious afternoon tea all together in the reception near the bar . The staff treated us very well ensuring we had every thing we needed . We also had our own cloakroom to hang our coats ,in fact they treated us like royalty. All we can say is thank you all for a lovely time at the panto it was a enjoyable afternoon. We all expected to be turned away as I'm sure other venues would have done . But Bricklane went above and beyond. All we can say is well done and hopefully you continue with the great work .
Absolutely brilliant. Food, service, performance everything was fantastic. My third year of panto and will definitely be back. Thank you for the laughter 😃
I went to see the Adult Panto, I haven't laughed that much in a long time and did the show with a 3 course lunch which was fantastic If your not a prude or aPC person your love it
What a wonderful afternoon spent at Brick Lane Music Hall watching Pinocchio and his wooden whopper. I laughed so much my cheeks hurt. All of the cast were amazing. Andrew Robley’s costume changes were plentiful, colourful and outrageous. Vincent was his usual magnificent self. Looking forward to our next visit in the summer.
First visit to this amazing theatre such a stunning building both inside and outside. Our trip with Easton coaches included a pantomime and a 3 course lunch which was delicious, hot and cooked to perfection, well done to all the staff. The panto was just great, a little bit naughty like you expect 😂😂 but delightful, amazing costumes too. Will definitely be returning and if you like a bit of nostalgia highly recommended.
What a great experience. Great entertainment, lol comedy, totally professional company. Good food, lovely friendly staff. An all out great afternoon. Many thanks to Vincent Hayes
I have just visited the music hall for the first time today and I can honestly say it was one of the best afternoons I have ever spent ❤ The atmosphere, the wonderful decor and memorabilia was very good 👍 The show was hilarious, costumes so well-made,singing good, the whole show great. The food was excellent, hot and tasty. Well deserving many 🌟 Thank you for a wonderful day
We what can I say that hasn't already been said about this venue and show (Pinocchio and his Wooden Whooper). I'll start with the food which was hot, well presented and very tasty, we had Vegetable Soup to start followed by Chicken breast with Vegetables and Peach Cheese Cake with Raspberry Sauce to finish off, all very very nice. The show its self is best describe it as "a good old fashioned musical hall panto with lots of innuendos and cheeky humour" no swearing required, and the cast all seemed to be enjoying themselves, with lots of deviations from the script. This was our 1st visit and I can say in all honesty it wont be our last!!! A very big thank you to all the staff and cast for making our visit a real pleasure full of laughter. Look forward to our next visit. Please if you haven't been then take a leap of faith and pay this great venue & cast a visit, you wont be disappointed.
Another fabulous show of fun and laughter by Vincent and his crew to see Pinocchio and his Wooden Whopper, plus the three course meal that was served hot and delicious, all staff worked extremely hard. Can highly recommend
B Brick Lane Music Hall: A Timeless Gem of British Entertainment
Brick Lane Music Hall is a true jewel in London’s cultural crown, delivering an unforgettable mix of comedy, song, and nostalgia in a setting brimming with warmth and charm. Housed in a beautifully restored church, this venue provides an intimate and immersive experience where every guest feels like part of the show.
The performances are a masterclass in traditional British variety, blending razor-sharp wit with heartwarming musical numbers. The talent on stage is second to none—seasoned performers who captivate with their impeccable timing, powerful vocals, and infectious energy. Whether it’s a classic music hall singalong, a cheeky bit of comedy, or a poignant ballad, every moment is crafted with care and delivered with pure joy.
Much of the show’s brilliance is owed to the superb writing and production by Lucy Hayes, whose expert storytelling and comedic flair ensure that each performance feels fresh, engaging, and deeply entertaining. Her work brings a perfect balance of nostalgia and originality, keeping audiences laughing, singing, and completely immersed from start to finish.
Beyond the entertainment, the hospitality at Brick Lane Music Hall is outstanding. The staff go above and beyond to make every visitor feel welcome, and the dining experience adds an extra layer of delight, making it perfect for a night out with friends or a special celebration.

A wonderful evening for my group today. Everyone was so helpful and kind. Particular thanks to Paul, who always looks after guests going in and out of this lovely building. He’s always helping the coaches and drivers, plus the smaller vehicles who need to park.
Fabulous night of good food and laughter. Friendly and welcoming staff. Hilarious sketches. Great music. Altogether a good night out. I've booked again, with more friends and a bigger table for March. Already looking forward to it. 🎭🥳
Set in a old church looks really impressive from the outside but when you get inside it is a magical place. It set in the style of an old music hall. Their are different show on at different times of the year. We came to see a Christmas Show with a Comedian and Christmas Carol's. The cast went out of their way to please, excelling themselves with beautiful singing.
